Pastoral Staff in Wood with Suitcase

Pastoral staff in beech wood and gold plated silver.

Tiles of the four Evangelists in 925/1000 silver by the goldsmith Fucina Longobarda Mazzola.

Gilding and anchoring of the tiles by silverware company “Brollo”.

The crook is made of carved beech wood sheets of 2.5 mm using the cross-cutting technique. The gilding is in gold leaf (copper and zinc alloy). The surface was streaked in a later moment using the spreading technique. The node was shaped using 5-axis lathes with numerical control. The staff and the lower extremity are covered in polyurethane paint.

The pastoral staff is approximately 180 cm tall and can be divided in three screwable pieces.<0

Supplied with a suitcase (size59x38x10 cm).
